Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist position is responsible for reviewing, inputting and imaging payable invoices, processing weekly check runs and assisting with month end close procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of accounts payable practices and works closely with our stores and home office to complete all accounting projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
- Reviews and enters invoices in accounting system manually and electronically
- Audits transactions to ensure they follow proper company policies and procedures
- Processes weekly check runs and creates check reports for verification
- Reconciles monthly vendor statements
- Assists with month end close
- Assists with audits and special projects
- Interacts and effectively communicates with vendors and various internal departments
- Shares experience and knowledge to better department
- Reviews, processes and images vendor invoices
- Helps file as needed
- Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
- Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
- Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications
- 2-5 years accounting experience preferred
- Retail experience a plus
- Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook and Word; knowledge of Excel
- Experience with Multiview or Oracle a plus
- Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing
- Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
- Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
